Artist's Comments

REFERENCE HERE: [link], one of Khaosdog's wonderful photos. I did change the angle a little as you can see (that photo looked so much smaller in photoshop :O).

OMG is Sehelei getting into realism?! lol Nah.
I noticed quite a lot of people don't appreciate artists who don't have mad realism skills. If an artist can't duplicate a photo then obviously they lack in any art-skills whatsoever. Needless to say I find that attitude very annoying so I've decided to paint a little something to show you guys I really do have some skills other than the ones I show you. I just choose not to use them when I enjoy drawing characters with funny expressions and different anatomy so much more. Realism is to be appreciated because of all the details and skills but cartoony still beats it in terms of imagination. Not that I don't enjoy looking at realistic pieces but that doesn't mean I appreciate cartoony art any less. It takes skill to draw something in your own way and make it look good, just as it takes skill to paint something so that it looks realistic :).

Photoshop, speedpainting (1 and a half hour)

EDIT: OMG the title of the photo is almost the same as mine! I even wanted to name it "White Howl" at first. Weird.

...and if it moves... kill it.

I couldn't do that in a month...
Impressive speedpainting.. Its fur looks soooo soft, I feel like I wanna hug it ^^ [and get bitten lol]
And, I don't know why, it seems that it's a little bit younger than the original, what adds a lot of cuteness into it =p
I love realism, I'm trying to add it to my style, but I don't know if I'm having any success.. lol

Keep up the good work! I wanna see a lot of masterpieces you do! ^^

I'm just jealous of your skill with teh photoshop. I'm resorting to drawing on paper if I want my pictures to look good.
